Some state winners declared, others too close to call after 2nd printout

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Hawaii News Now called several state races after the second printout, released at 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 6.
According to the state elections office, this printout included all but ballots that were deposited in drop boxes on Election Day.
Senate District 6: Incumbent Democrat Sen. Angus McKelvey beat Republican challenger Sheila Walker with 57.6% (8,782 votes) to represent West and South Maui.
Senate District 22: Republican Samantha DeCorte beat Democrat Cedric Gates with 49.7% (4,800 votes) for the open seat to represent Ko Olina, Nanakuli, Maili, Waianae, Makaha, and Makua.
House District 29: Democrat Ikaika Hussey beat Republican Carole Kaapu with 65.4% (3,597 votes) for the open seat to represent Kamehameha Heights, Kalihi Valley, and Kalihi.
House District 30: Democrat Shirley Templo beat Republican P.M. Azinga with 65.1% (2,921 votes) to represent Kalihi, Kalihi Kai, Keehi Lagoon, and Hickam Village. Templo beat current Rep. Sonny Ganaden in the primary election.
House District 50: Democrat Mike Lee beat Republican Timothy Connelly with 67.8% (8,869 votes) to represent Kailua and Kaneohe Bay. Lee beat current Rep. Natalia Hussey-Burdick in the primary.
Senate District 23: Republican incumbent Sen. Brenton Awa and Democrat Ben Shafer to represent Kaneohe, Kahaluu, Laie, Kahuku, Mokuleia, Schofield Barracks, and Kunia Camp.
House District 32: Incumbent Democrat Rep. Micah Aiu and Republican Garner Shimizu to represent Fort Shafter, Moanalua, Aliamanu, Foster Village, Aiea and Halawa.
House District 39: Republican incumbent Rep. Elijah Pierick and Democrat Corey Rosenlee to represent Royal Kunia, Village Park, Honouliuli, Hoopili, and Waipahu.
House District 45: Democrat Desire Desoto and Republican Chris Muraoka for the open seat to represent Waianae, Makaha.
